The Shard London Bridge Quarter

Shard London Bridge Quarter

JDZ provided the technical MEP Project management of this brand new iconic building in central London. Standing at over 300M it is the tallest building in the UK and Europe providing mixed use offices, hotel, apartments, restaurants and public viewing gallery constructed over the UK's busiest train station. Providing a full time team based at the client project offices we are the MEP technical advisors to Turner & Townsend project management.

JDZ completed a 2 year commission as MEP technical advisers to the Project Managers on the Shard. Now the tallest building in the UK and Europe JDZ are rightly proud of their involvement in the MEP project management of this prestigious project working as technical advisors to the client's advisors and project managers Turner & Townsend, working with MACE and Arup to deliver a world class MEP solution for a world class development, on budget and on programme.

We provided technical MEP project management for the Shell and Core construction of the Shard tower and London Bridge Station concourse, providing direct input into the design and build aspects of the project to ensure the client expectations were met within programme and budget.

The main Shard tower had an MEP value for S&C services of £80M with the total S&C construction cost of £500M, comprising a mixed use development of offices, hotel, Apartments, Retail & Public viewing galleries. The tower being constructed over the main London Bridge terminal also necessitated a new main terminal concourse and bus station.

We were directly involved in the transition of the design drawings into final installation working drawings to construction status.

All MEP change on the project went through us for technical appraisal against client requirements, programme and budget prior to instruction to the contractor making us the technical arbitrators to the Contract Administrator.

We provided a S&C to tenant fit-out interface role. Commenting on tenant proposed fit-out installations where they interface on S&C services which will have a direct impact in Landlord services.

We also participated in the delivery of the London Bridge concourse part of the project working closely with Network Rail, and successfully delivered the MEP services within the very tight project programme requirements.
